• Everyone SHOULD SCAN, even if it's just a little bit.
• Search specific, since broad searches will not return all known results.

UPDATES

... Of the current version 1.4:
 
• in  3-search/keepsearching  change line  28  from
    TOTALTERM="$TOTALTERM $1"
  into
    TOTALTERM="$TOTALTERM+$1"
  (so change the space into a "+").
  This will be incorporated into the next version of shadowFT.
   
• If you get the message: "At least one of the required programs was not found or is too old," then you're probably not running Debian. Thanks to Jack for pointing out that sft uses a Debian extension to netcat; see his post for details on how to install it on other systems. Since Debian seems to provide the only well-maintained version of netcat (last upstream release 1996), it might be a good idea to switch permanently.
   
• If you get the message: "You have to compile <whatever>," then something didn't compile successfully. Checking the scripts that produce these errors and the Makefiles that may be the cause, is left as an excercise to the reader.
